Jeremy Le Grice studied under Peter Lanyon at his legendary art classes in St. Ives in the late 1950's before attending The Slade School of Art in London. Subsequently Le Grice gained a reputation as one of the foremost landscape painters in Cornwall. 'Still Life' was released from his estate by his widow in 2018. It encapuslates the lower muted register of colours for which he became known. Far from being dark, his works in this genre give an iridescent interplay between dark and light and a glimpse of mystery and a secret life.
