Charles Howard was born in Richmond Surrey in 1922. In 1973 he moved to Penzance in Cornwall with his family and became a member of the Newlyn socety of artists and the Penwith society of artists in St'ives. Among many awards and prizes he won the South west arts Major award. He was very much influenced by the French impressionists especially Raoul Dufy, and was best known for his oils and water colours. He could regularly been seen painting on Sennen Beach while his children played in the surf.
